Novi Native One Of Three Air Force Officers Killed In Training Flight Crash

The U-28A crashed near the Clovis Municipal Airport in New Mexico

NOVI, MI — Air Force Capt. Andrew Becker of Novi was killed Tuesday night as the result of a crash of a reconnaissance and surveillance plane during a training flight in New Mexico. Cannon Air Force Base officials say the 33-year-old pilot and two others died when their single-engine U-28A’s crashed near the Clovis Municipal Airport.

The incident is under investigation. Also killed were 29-year-old Capt. Kenneth Dalga from Goldsboro, North Carolina, and 26-year-old co-pilot, 1st Lt. Frederick Dellecker from Daytona Beach, Florida. All three men were assigned to the 318th Special Operations Squadron at Cannon, according to a CBS Local Detroit 62 report.
