Parents Use GoFundMe to Raise Money for a Plymouth-Canton Teacher's Holiday Gift

Local mom Carie Gilles rallied other parents into pooling their money to buy a holiday gift for a Plymouth-Canton first-grade teacher.

An online campaign to buy a Smith Elementary first-grade teacher a holiday gift has earned $420.

The campaign for Eric Stamper's gift has more than surpassed its goal of $275.

Carie Gilles created the fundraiser on GoFundMe.com in October. The page reads:

"Who's interested in getting Mr. Stamper a cool gift this holiday instead of racking your brain for what a teacher might want?

I'm collecting money to get Mr. Stamper a gift card for the holidays.

Give whatever you'd like. I'll take all of the money and put it into a gift card to Amazon.com where he can get just about anything!

Collecting money until December 1! Get that teacher gift out of the way early this year!"
