Though this year may not have been what everyone wanted, I am so proud of all the we accomplished together. So before we start our final week of the school year and head out on a much-deserved summer vacation, there are a few thank-yous for me to share.
-
Thank you to our students for exercising such grit and perseverance. It was because of your ability to come to school and follow the new rules and routines that allowed us to get through the year. Sometimes we take for granted those things that we expect to be there for us every day. I think we all learned how much we appreciate seeing each other at school, and we shouldn’t take that for granted.

Thank you to our parents for demonstrating such flexibility as we have pivoted from one structure to another, implemented mitigation strategies to minimize the potential transmission of COVID-19, and exercised caution when your child displayed any signs of illness. I know it was not easy, but your children will remember how you were there for them and helped through this strange year.
Thank you to the Eriksson P.T.O. for your efforts to support our staff, students, and parents. Though we were not able to hold events as we have in typical years, I appreciate your support by voting to add a walking path to our back playground as part of this summer’s construction plan. The members of our PTO Board were Tamala Ferguson, President; Justin Ferguson, Vice President; Tracie Liszewski, Treasurer; Holly Hunter, Communications Secretary; and Jenn Krause, Recording Secretary. All of our PTO Board members will be returning next year in their same positions, except for Jenn Krause who moves on the middle school with her daughters. Thank your, Mrs. Krause for all your help over the years. We will miss you!

Thank you to Ms. Passmore, Mrs. Qrie, and Mrs. Behrend in the office. You have all done a masterful job supporting our students and parents throughout the year as they navigated safe start, hybrid and virtual learning. And our staff really appreciates all you have done to care for children and help them get materials to students in need all year.

Thank you to Mrs. Paruta, Ms. Carson, and Mrs. Kaur for the incredible work that started last summer getting meals to our students and families. Your effort and creativity have not gone unnoticed, and you are so appreciated. I want to wish Mrs. Paruta the best of luck next year as she moves on to a middle school position. I am so glad that you were here this year.
Thank you to Mrs. Simon, our nurse, and Ms. Sotak, our Health Care Technician. I do not know what we would have done with out you. You made this year possible through your knowledge and care. You guys are the best, and I wish you both a relaxing summer.
Thank you to Mr. Davis and Mr. Rice for all of your work to keep our school clean. From your daily work in the cafeteria and cleaning touchpoints all day, or breaking your backs to move furniture from room to room to insure that students had the most space available their classroom, you have willing to do whatever is needed.
Finally, thank you to the Eriksson staff. This has been one of the most challenging years, but I am honored to have gone through 2020-21 with you. You are selfless, creative, collaborative, flexible, and you put the best interest of students in the center of all you do. Watching you work is inspiring, and I hope you ALL find time to relax this summer. I also wish Mrs. Przytulski, paraprofessional who works in the library and on the playground, a very happy retirement. You will be truly missed at the Pond, but remember, once a frog… ALWAYS a frog!
The following is our schedule of events for the week of June 7, 2021:

Sincerely,
Kevin M. Learned, Principal
