The concert will feature vocalist and narrator Geff Phillips who, in addition to being a talented vocalist and the Phil’s narrator, is a professional multi-instrumentalist who has performed throughout the Midwest for many years. Geff has worked in theatre, improvisational comedy, has written and recorded commercial music, and has played and continues to play with a variety of bands, but none as big as the Michigan Philharmonic!
Geff Phillips will lend his voice and talents as he leads the singing and dancing to The Time Warp from “The Rocky Horror Picture Show” as well as to the infamous Monster Mash.
The Michigan Phil is excited to have a talent such as Geff Phillips to help make the night more fun and exciting!
For the Philharmonster Mash, the orchestra will also be featuring works by Johann Sebastian Bach, Engelbert Humperdinck, Danny Elfman, John Williams, and more. The works include the ever-so-popular Toccata in D Minor, BWV 565, featuring the Michigan Phil’s very own pianist Patrick Johnson, Witch’s Ride from “Hansel & Gretel (1892), Danse Macabre (Dance of Death) (1874), Selections from “Sweeney Todd” (1979), and many, many more!
The orchestra will also be playing musical selections from movies such as “Pirates of the Caribbean” (2003), “Jaws” (1975), and “Man of Steel” (2013).
The Philharmonster Mash is full of surprises, especially the annual reveal of Music Director and Conductor, Nan Washburn’s costume!
Get your costume out, limber up, and come have a night of Halloween fun with the Michigan Philharmonic.
