Plymouth and Canton to Take the Ice at Comerica Park
Plymouth-Canton, and a retired Detroit Red Wing with ties to Plymouth, will take to the ice at Comerica Park in the coming weeks.

When crews complete an open-air ice rink on the field at Comerica Park in the coming days, a full slate of games featuring high school teams, men's leagues and NHL alumni will take the ice.
And when the puck drops, Plymouth-Canton will be represented.
Canton will take on Plymouth, 8:30 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 19. Ticket details have not yet been released.
In addition to the high school games, Comerica Park will host the Great Lakes Invitational on Dec. 27 (Michigan State vs. Michigan Tech at 3:30 p.m. and Western Michigan vs. Michigan at 7 p.m.) and Dec. 28 (consolation game at 3:30 p.m. and championship game at 7 p.m.); an Ontario Hockey League double-header on Dec. 29 (Windsor Spitfires vs. Saginaw Spirit at 1:30 p.m. and London Knights vs. Plymouth Whalers at 5 p.m.); and an American Hockey League contest between the Toronto Marlies and Grand Rapids Griffins at 5 p.m. Dec. 30. Then on Dec. 31 the Detroit Red Wings alumni will take on the Toronto Maple Leafs alumni.
There will be at least one player in that game with ties to Plymouth: Chris Osgood, a current Plymouth resident and retired Wings' Goalie who is a three-time Stanley Cup Champion.
Tickets are available for the 2013 Maple Leafs vs. Red Wings Alumni Showdown on Tuesday, Dec. 31, at Comerica Park. Each ticket is good for both games of the New Year’s Eve doubleheader (1 p.m. and 3:30 p.m.) and provides free access to the Coke Zero Fan Zone in the parking lots just outside Comerica Park.
