Plymouth-Canton School Lockdown Ends: Police
A rumor had circulated that a student had brought a gun to school. The rumor was unfounded, police said.

CANTON, MI – The Plymouth-Canton Educational Park was locked down for nearly three hours Friday while police investigated a suspicious situation, reported the Canton Police. The lockdown was lifted at 1:45 p.m.
Police called the soft lockdown-sheet in place a "precautionary measure."
“Although there was never an active threat, the safety of students will always be at the forefront of decisions like this being made by our department and the Plymouth-Canton Community Schools,” said Public Safety Director Joshua Meier.

The lockdown started at approximately 11 a.m. after a rumor had begun circulating at the school that a student had brought a gun to school, said Sgt. Dan Traylor of the Canton Police. The rumor, however, "was completely unfounded," Traylor said. "No one was ever in danger."
Students were to resume normal dismissal at the end of the school day.
