Plymouth Penn Theatre Begins Curbside Concessions

PLYMOUTH, MI — A local theater has taken a different approach to covering monthly costs as it remains closed due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Beginning Friday, Penn Theatre in Plymouth is launching a curbside concessions program, the theatre announced Thursday on its website.

"As you know, the Penn Theatre has been closed since March 13," the theater said. "Although the business is temporarily closed, there are ongoing monthly expenses associated with keeping the Penn in tip-top shape. Normally the income from our operations covers our expenses, but these are not normal times. We anticipate being closed for a few more months and we need your support.

"If you want to help, it's easy - for a donation, we will provide snacks for your family movie night at home."

The theater will be open for curbside concessions from 6-7:30 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, it said.

Patrons can place their order at the box office window and then pick it up from a bin near the entry door. Patrons are now allowed to enter the building, due to social distancing regulations.
