Plymouth VFW Post To Host Annual Soup & Salad Dinner

This dinner is the perfect way to warm your belly before heading out to the Plymouth Ice Festival!!!

The Plymouth VFW Auxiliary is hosting their annual Soup & Salad Dinner on Saturday, January 11th, from 5:00-7:00 PM, and I can tell you that this is one of the best darn dinners that they have, and it is an absolute bargain at $5 for all you can eat!

Six years ago, I attended this Soup & Salad Dinner. It was my first time at the Plymouth VFW Post. That night, we met some of the nicest people you can ever meet. The very next day, I walked in and became a member of the AVVA (Associate Vietnam Veterans of America), and have been hanging out with these folks ever since. The food was awesome that night, but the people are what makes this place so special. I walked in that night a stranger, I now consider them family.

So I'll just say this before I get to the menu. If you enjoy soups, salads, and crock pot creations, you will love this event. Not only will you enjoy some great food, but more importantly, you will get some great ideas to try out at home for the future! I won't lie, I
did steal an idea or three from last year's event. I am not ashamed to admit it either.

So here is the deal. For a mere $5.00 you will get a variety of hot soups & cold salads to choose from. Feel free to try as many as you like. There will also be bread & rolls to eat, and coffee and
tea to drink. There will be soft drinks, and a cash bar available as well. Most importantly, you will meet some of the best people around. I can't tell you how friendly and funny folks are at the VFW Post. You'll spend a lot of time laughing and smiling. I promise you that!

Now the fun part. After you have enjoyed your soup and salad, you will want to visit the dessert table, or as I call it, the "Buck-A-Pop" table. Everything costs a dollar. This table will be filled with a variety of homemade desserts cooked in the kitchens of Auxiliary members, and they are spectacular. Beyond spectacular. I suggest walking to this table with a five dollar bill and trying out five different goodies. You'll not be disappointed.
