Plymouth VFW Post To Host Chili Cookoff
Come down to the Plymouth VFW Post for some great chili. You can also enter your own chili for a chance to win! Free to enter! $5 to eat!

We are currently in the depths of winter. It's cold, it's sometimes dreary, gets dark early, and it
can get downright depressing. So what is the best recipe to cure the winter blues? Good food! Good winter food to be exact, and the folks at the Plymouth VFW Post are experts on good winter food.
The Plymouth VFW Auxiliary will be hosting their Winter Warm Up Chili Cook-Off on Saturday, February 23rd, from 5:00-7:00 PM. For those of you who attended the recent Soup & Salad dinner, you'll most likely be excited to attend this “all you can eat” event as well.
What is more exciting about this event, is that not only is every member of our community invited to come on out and share a meal with our vets, but everybody is invited to dust off that chili recipe, and enter your favorite batch of chili, and compete for a cash prize. Three prizes will be awarded, $25 for 1st, $15 for 2nd, and $10 for 3rd place. To be sure, it's not the money that counts, but the pride of winning a spot on the podium for best chili!

If you are feeling a bit competitive, and want to put your chili up against the others, you can hop in the kitchen, and make a batch of your own. It is free to enter, but you'll need to bring your chili in a crock pot, so that they can keep it piping hot. You will also need to call Nancy Dignan, who is
spearheading this event, to let her know you would like to enter. Nancy will fill you in on details, and answer any questions you may have.
Finally, I would like to just say that I brought some friends to the last dinner that was hosted at the
Plymouth VFW Post, and for some of them, it was their first visit. Every single one of them had a great time, and loved the community atmosphere, and the great food. This is a great group of people, and our veterans, and their families are some of the funniest, and most welcoming folks in the world. So if you haven't had the chance to visit the VFW Post here in Plymouth, you should definitely make it a point to come on out. Not only will you eat great food, but you'll find the dinner company to be even better.
