Plymouth VFW Post Hosting A Great Soup & Salad Dinner
All you can eat, homemade soup and salad for $5.00? That's right! You are cheating yourself if you pass up this event!

Well, we are staring down some nasty weather Friday, and the roads will most likely be bad. I had a heart to heart with Mother Nature though, and she has given me her word that Saturday will be a good driving day. The reason I called in this favor, is that the Plymouth VFW Auxiliary is hosting their annual Hot Soup & Cold Salad Dinner on Saturday, January 13th, from 5-7 PM, and I can tell you that this is one of the best dinners they have, and it is an absolute bargain at $5 for all you can eat!
I am particularly excited about this dinner event because this is the first event that I ever attended at the Plymouth VFW Post 6695. I enjoyed the greatest crock pot delights, and had an absolute blast meeting all of the great people at our VFW Post. There were two solid walls of different kinds of soups and salads, and I seriously wanted to try a little of each, but just couldn't get it done. Couldn't even come close. That is the great thing about this being an annual event, because folks can come back, and try different crock pot creations every single year.
So I'll just say this before I get to the menu. If you enjoy soup, and crock pot creations, you will enjoy this event. Not only will you enjoy some great food, but more importantly, you will get some great ideas to try out at home for the future! I won't lie, I did steal an idea or two from last year's event. I am not ashamed to admit it either.

So here is the deal. For a mere $5.00 you will get a variety of hot soups & cold salads to choose from. Feel free to try as many as you like. There will also be bread & rolls to eat, and coffee and tea to drink. There will be soft drinks, and a cash bar available as well. Most importantly, you will meet some of the best people around. I can't tell you how friendly and funny folks are at the VFW Post. You'll spend a lot of time laughing and smiling. Promise!
Now the fun part. After you have enjoyed your soup and salad, you will want to visit the dessert table, or as I call it, the "Buck-A-Pop" table. Everything costs a dollar. This table will be filled with a variety of homemade desserts cooked in the kitchens of Auxiliary members, and they are spectacular. Beyond spectacular. I suggest walking to this table with a five dollar bill and trying out five different goodies. You'll not be disappointed.
