Plymouth VFW Post Hosting Their Annual 4th Of July Chicken BBQ

The folks at the Plymouth VFW Post love to BBQ, and this is one of their favorite events, so don't miss out on some great BBQ with our vets!

There are all sorts of great events happening this 4th of July weekend, and for folks that are staying in town, one of the great ones, is the Annual VFW Post 6695 4th of July Chicken BBQ. The good folks at the Plymouth VFW Post do this every year, and it is always a huge success, and a great time.

Plenty of folks will be attending the Plymouth 4th of July Parade, and after the festivities, bellies begin to growl, the body needs to be nourished, and food climbs right to the top of the priority list. The Plymouth VFW Post is a great destination for parade goers who are ready for an awesome lunch, and want to keep the patriotic spirit going. For those who are not going to the parade, you can sleep in a bit, and wander in around noon, for a great meal, and a dose of Independence Day spirit, at a more leisurely pace.

It’s really simple. The menu has but one item. You will get a generous portion of BBQ Chicken, a baked potato, cole slaw, and a roll and butter, and you’ll get it for $8.50. I guarantee you, it will be the best money spent the whole day, and you’ll be supporting our veterans in the process. Truly a win-win proposition.

This year I have the privilege of being able to spend the day helping our veterans put on this shindig, although I am guessing they are definitely not going to allow me anywhere near the BBQ, as these guys take great pride in the food they serve, and I am still an untested rookie. My guess? I’ll be bussing tables, but I’ll tell you this, they’ll be the cleanest tables in Plymouth, and they’ll be done in an orderly and proficient manner!

This event begins at high noon, and will run until the chicken runs out, so don’t dawdle, or you’ll miss out on some great BBQ. So come on out, say hi to our vets, enjoy a great meal, and enjoy Independence Day at the Plymouth VFW Post.
