Plymouth VFW Post Hosts 2nd Annual Blum's Landing Euchre Tourney
This is a great way for card players to have some fun, maybe win some money, and support this great resource for our veterans.

The Plymouth VFW Post will be hosting the Blum's Landing 2nd Annual Euchre Party on Saturday,
March 23rd. This event is open to the public, and promises to be a fun evening of cards, food, and raffles.
For those of you who do not know about Blum's Landing, this is the story. Terry and Janet Blumberg have built Blum’s Landing in loving memory of their son Sgt. Trevor A. Blumberg-known to his fellow soldiers as “Blum”. Trevor was killed September 14, 2003 in Fallujah, Iraq.
He had also served in Korea and Afghanistan prior to deploying to Iraq with the 82nd Airborne Division.
Trevor asked his parents to do two things if he should not return from his mission in Iraq. The first was to care for his dog, Scrappy, who sadly passed in 2015.

The second was to take care of his guys, which has proven more difficult. After many prayers and meditation, the concept for Blum’s Landing was born. Trevor loved the outdoors, especially the woods, lakes, and rivers of Northern Michigan. He often spoke about bringing his fellow soldiers to Michigan for fishing and camping trips. This love for nature and his dedication and loyalty to his friends inspired the idea for Blum’s Landing.
The Blumbergs purchased 12 acres of land on Orchard Lake near Rogers City, Michigan. Only minutes from the picturesque beaches of Lake Huron, they built a retreat home in the tranquil wooded area on Orchard Lake.

Since 2005, thousands of dollars and countless man hours of labor by Terry, dear friends, and volunteers have brought Blum’s Landing to fruition.
Blum’s Landing has been established for those persons who have defended our freedom during the War on Terror. It is not a rehabilitation center; but rather our home serves as a free
bed and breakfast retreat for those active or inactive personnel and their immediate family over a
short period of time.
As with any home or retreat, there are always improvements to be made, and at this time, Jan & Terry, who is a member of the Plymouth-Canton Vietnam Veterans of America, are looking to make Blum's Landing even more accessible for veterans with handicaps, and they could use your help.
