Tornado, Flood Watches In Effect Today
A tornado watch means conditions are favorable for the development of funnel clouds. The National Weather Service issued the watch until 8 p.m. Sunday.

If you have outdoor Memorial Day weekend plans, better get them in sooner than later. Western Wayne County and much of Michigan's southern lower peninsula  are under tornado and flood watches. Thunderstorms with the potential to produce very heavy rain are expected to move across southeast Michigan this afternoon and evening.
The National Weather Service issued a tornado watch through 8 p.m. The flood watch that runs through late tonight includes Wayne County because soils remain saturated from recent heavy rainfall  and rivers, creeks and streams are already running higher than normal.
The good news: Â The National Weather Service forecast for tomorrow is mostly sunny with highs up to 91 degrees with southwest winds 5 to 15 mph.
