Township Bids Out Golf Course Management Services
This is an update on planning for the future of Hilltop Golf Course.

Plymouth Township has issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) for the management of the financially-struggling Hilltop Golf Course.
“Our contract with the current manager, Billy Casper Golf, expires in March of next year,’ said Supervisor Kurt Heise. “Our Township Board has a fiduciary duty to see if either Billy Casper or another vendor can develop a management plan where the Township can at least break even on Hilltop.”
According to Heise, the Township’s golf course loses approximately $150,000 a year, money that Heise says could be better spent on improved fire and police protection and other essential services.

“This is not an indictment of Billy Casper management or their staff at Hilltop,” said Heise. “I’ve said repeatedly that they are doing the best they can with what they’ve got, and I would encourage them to respond to our request for proposals.”
Under the terms of the RFP, prospective bidders have until September 21 to submit proposals. The Supervisor and Township Board, assisted by the Township’s volunteer Golf Course Study Committee, will review the
proposals, interview prospective bidders, and make a selection by December 31, 2018.
