Vietnam Veterans of America Are Hosting An Agent Orange Town Hall In Northville
Agent Orange was used in the Vietnam War, and hundreds of thousands of our soldiers were exposed to it. It's effects span 7 generations.
The Vietnam Veterans of America, Chapter 528 is sponsoring an Agent Orange Town Hall on Saturday, May 9th, at the Northville High School Auditorium. The objective is to inform and register veterans, their families, and community, that have been affected by Agent Orange and other dioxins used during the Vietnam War up to the present.
The effects of these dioxins are carried in the DNA of the affected person for up to seven generations. It is important that this information be made available to all concerned, including the general public and medical profession. The National Academy of Sciences and Veterans Administration has connected Agent Orange and other dioxin exposure during this period, to include 12 diseases, 38 cancers, and 20 birth defects. Our veterans will not be around to make future generations aware of the possible debilitating health problems passed on to their heirs. This Town Hall will be a stepping stone.
Through education, people will be able to use the resources available to obtain help for themselves, their family and also how to contact their legislators about these poisons that are affecting their family’s well being. This event will focus on the children, grandchildren, and future generations of exposed Vietnam Veterans.
