Rochester's Halloween Celebrations For 2019

From costumes to parades to a spaghetti dinner, don't miss Halloween in Rochester this year. Here's a look at what is being planned.

ROCHESTER, MI — Rochester families can celebrate the season with several Halloween events coming up.

First up, on Oct. 19, join your friends and neighbors in Downtown Rochester for Trick-or-Treat Downtown, a costume parade, a spaghetti dinner and a Halloween Fest.

Kids are encouraged to dress-up and Trick-or-Treat downtown from 3:30-5:00 p.m. Nearly 50 businesses will participate in Trick-or-Treat and the participating businesses will be marked with window signage. Trick-or-Treater traffic will be one way only on each side of Main Street. The east side will run one way north and the west side will run one way south.

At 5:15 p.m., kids can meet for the Costume Parade at the public parking lot at the corner of Water Street and University. They will be joined by a police car and fire truck, and precede south on Water Street and end at the Rochester Fire Department. Stop by the Rochester Fire Department after Trick-or-Treat for firehouse fun, a spaghetti dinner and open house benefiting Rochester Area Youth Assistance. The dinner will run from 4:30–7:00 p.m. Tickets are on sale at the door and cost $10 for adults and $5 for children 12 and younger.

The Halloween Fest is located in the parking lot at the corner of E. Third and Water streets, one block east of Main. Halloween Fest begins at 5 p.m. in the Farmers Market lot, corner of E. Third and Water. Activities include: Halloween themed games and prizes, The Rochester Hills Book Bike, The Little Donut Factory will be selling hot fresh donuts, strolling Magician, Anthony Grupido, and phot opportunity with Ecto-1 and the Metro Detroit Ghostbusters, and The Linda Rea Team will be donating pumpkins to the first 125 trick-or-treaters who stop by their pumpkin patch.

Finally, families are encouraged not to miss Trick-or-Treat at the Farmers’ Market on Saturday, Oct. 26. Kids are encouraged to dress-up and Trick-or-Treat from 10 a.m. to noon.
