CN Closes Roads In Royal Oak For Rail Road Repair

Note these detours as CN Railroad replaces its rails and uneven decking.

ROYAL OAK, MI— After months of working with CN Railroad, the City of Royal Oak has prepared permits for detouring traffic away from CN’s Fourth Street and Lincoln Avenue crossing so that the railroad can proceed with the replacement of rails and uneven decking.

The work began ahead of schedule on Monday. The closing will continue through May 6, 2019 Pedestrians need to be especially aware that these crossings are closed for them as well while construction occurs, city officials said.

Detour routes include 11 Mile Road and Sixth Street for vehicles and Fifth Street for pedestrians.
