ROYAL OAK, MI — There are some locals who have made Royal Oak High School proud and they are about to be recognized for the 2019 year.

The Royal Oak High School Hall of Fame Committee will honor the most recent ROHS Hall of Fame inductees at a ceremony at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 22 at the Royal Oak High School Kimball auditorium. The event is open to the public.

Here's a look at the Royal Oak High School Hall of Fame Inductees for 2019:

  • Joseph Guettler, MD - Class of 1988: Orthopaedic Surgeon, Beaumont Hospital
  • Victoria King - Class of 1971: Bassoonist, Detroit Symphony Orchestra
  • Hal Light: Social Studies Educator/Administrator, RO Kimball High School
  • Fred Nahhat - Class of 1983: Senior Vice President & Executive Producer, Detroit Public Television
  • Timothy Ryan - Class of 1977: Healthcare Administrator / Attorney
  • Judy Schultheiss - Language Arts Educator - RO Dondero High School
  • Deborah Servitto (Masters) - Class of 1974: Justice, Michigan Court of Appeals
  • Amy (Saunders) Szarafinski - Class of 1988: Detroit Police Officer
  • David Woodward - Class of 1994:- Oakland County Commissioner, State Representative, Oakland County Democratic Chair

The Royal Oak High School Hall of Fame is dedicated to providing graduates and staff of all Royal Oak High Schools a way of showcasing their excellence in public service, business, education, entertainment, fine arts, athletics, science and technology, career or any other prominent area based upon criteria established by the Hall of Fame committee.
