I-75 Closed In Oakland County This Weekend

Both northbound and southbound lanes of I-75 will close in Oakland County this weekend for construction. Here's what to know.

OAKLAND COUNTY, MI — Heads up, motorists, part of I-75 will be closed in Oakland County coming up. Work on the I-75 modernization project in Oakland County continues this weekend, MDOT said.

Here's what you need to know:

Scheduled to begin at 11 p.m. Friday, Sept. 20, northbound and southbound I-75 will be closed between I-696 and I-75 Business Loop (BL) (Square Lake Road). Both directions of I-75 will reopen by 5 a.m. Monday, Sept. 23. During the closure, northbound and southbound I-75 traffic will be detoured to M-1 (Woodward Avenue).

Closing both directions of the freeway is necessary to allow crews to safely remove the Dallas Avenue overpass above I-75 and repair pavement on sections of the freeway between I-696 and Square Lake Road.
