Man Accused Of Royal Oak Church Bomb Threats Had No Record
Now Adam Laird, of Royal Oak, faces a felony charge of threat of terrorism for sending bomb threats to nine area churches.

ROYAL OAK — A 33-year-old Royal Oak man faces felony charges after nine separate churches received emailed bomb threats Friday.
The emails all came in to the churches in a 90-minute timespan and authorities believe Adam Robert Laird was behind them. He's been charged with eight counts of a felony charge of threat of terrorism and another count of malicious use of telecommunications services. He was arraigned Sunday and ordered held in lieu of $500,000 bail.
Police said Laird has no criminal convictions and they do not have a motive for the threats.

The following churches reported receiving the threats:
- First Congregational Church, 1314 Northwood
- St. Mary's Catholic Church, 730 S. Lafayette
- Calvary Christian Church, 2203 E. Eleven Mile
- Unity of Royal Oak, 2500 Crooks
- Central Oaks Church, 2005 Rochester
- Royal Oak First Methodist Church, 320 W. Seventh
- Woodside Bible Church, 3620 Rochester
- Starr Presbyterian Church, 1717 W. Thirteen Mile
- St. John Episcopal Church, 26998 Woodward
Laird's next scheduled court appearance is set for 9 a.m. Oct. 14 before Judge Derek Meinecke of the 44th District Court.
