“We are excited to see what the wonderful artists in our area have to show Royal Oak this year. While the artists selected receive a modest stipend, it pales in comparison to the mountains of thought, time and effort that they pour into their art," Jason Gittinger, chair of the Royal Oak Commission for the Arts. "We could never purchase that, and each season of the program we are humbled to be the curators of such great energy and commitment to our city.”

The Royal Oak Commission for the Arts was created in 2012 to support arts and culture in the City of Royal Oak. The commission for the arts is responsible for events such as the Summer Concert Series, Art Explored, Public Piano Project and East 11 Mile Road Public Art Program.
