Royal Oak Summer Concert Schedule
Royal Oak's free summer concert series has been announced. Here's what's in store.

ROYAL OAK, MI — Things are heating up around Royal Oak and that means it’s time for the Royal Oak Commission for the Arts’ 2018 summer concert series lineup. The free musical shows kick off July 5 and feature everything from local rock to kids music, Irish medleys to soulful jams.
Never been to one of Royal Oak’s concerts? Here’s how it works: For six weeks, Center Street between 3rd and 4th Streets in Downtown Royal Oak is turned into a ‘pop up’ park during the concerts. Along with an evening of entertaining music performed by local favorites, this year’s program will feature food from local restaurants that will be available for purchase and outdoor recreational activities to get in on.
“Each year our summer concerts in Royal Oak get better and better,” said Jason Gittinger, chair of the Royal Oak Commission for the Arts. “This year, not only do we have some powerhouse Detroit musicians to entertain us, but we also have some fantastic family activities with our partners at Oakland County Parks and the Detroit Institute of Arts. With our friends at the Royal Oak Restaurant Association’s serving food at each concert and some neighboring restaurants utilizing outdoor space for patios, people can make a night of it in downtown Royal Oak.”
