Up To 6 Inches Of Snow Predicted For Southeastern Michigan

Here's what you need to know about this Winter Weather Advisory.

METRO DETROIT, MI — Well, we see Winter has arrived for a visit.

Metro Detroit was blanketed with snow Sunday night and the National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory across Southeastern Michigan including Detroit, Ann Arbor, Adrian, Monroe and Pontiac.

Up to six inches of snow is expected, with at least four accumulating. The advisory is in effect until midnight.

Forecasters say plan on slippery road conditions that impact morning and evening commutes.

Temperatures will hold steady in the upper 20s and low 30s in the morning before gradually dropping during the afternoon. This will be the cause for notable accumulations on area roadways, forecasters said.

Snow. High near 32. North wind 9 to 14 mph, with gusts as high as 21 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. Total daytime snow accumulation of around 4 inches.

Tonight
Snow showers, mainly before 1am. Low around 20. North northwest wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 22 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New snow accumulation of around an inch possible.

Tuesday
Mostly sunny, with a high near 26. West northwest wind 15 to 17 mph, with gusts as high as 26 mph.

Tuesday Night
Mostly clear, with a low around 11. Northwest wind 5 to 7 mph.

Wednesday
Increasing clouds, with a high near 29. Light and variable wind becoming south southwest 5 to 10 mph in the morning.

A chance of snow showers. Cloudy, with a low around 25. Chance of precipitation is 40%.

Thursday
Mostly cloudy, with a high near 36.
