Rep. Wozniak announces Michigan Strategic Fund grant for Romeo
Performance-based grant will add $4.6 million investment and 70 jobs to community
State Rep. Doug Wozniak announced today the Michigan Strategic Fund, an arm of the Michigan Economic Development Corporation, approved a grant supporting a project in the village of Romeo.
The Michigan Business Development Program performance-based grant will total $450,000 and support the relocation of an Arlington Automotive facility from Illinois to Romeo. Arlington Automotive is a U.K.-based automotive parts supplier who manufactures products used in the chassis, powertrains, and fuel/thermal management systems of BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Jaguar Land Rover, and various other vehicles.
“I commend the Michigan Strategic Fund for supporting this investment in our community,” Wozniak said. “Arlington’s facility will provide a boost to our local economy and provide good jobs for our hard-working residents.”

The Romeo facility will manufacture thermal management systems, hood releases, and other parts for contacts with GM, Fiat-Chrysler, and Ford. All told, the expansion will result in the creation of 70 new jobs and a total investment of nearly $4.6 million in Romeo, which was chosen over two other locations in Illinois and South Carolina.
