Rep. Wozniak nominated to serve on key state council

Council maintains safety, security, and peace for citizens

State Rep. Doug Wozniak of Shelby Township was recently nominated to serve on the Michigan State Council for Interstate Adult Offender Supervision. The council is tasked with selecting one member of the Legislature nominated by the Speaker of the House and Senate Majority Leader to join the five-person board.

“I am honored to have been nominated for this position by Speaker Chatfield and Majority Leader Shirkey,” Wozniak said. “This council is tasked with an important role in maintaining the safety, security, and peace of mind of the citizens of Michigan. I am excited to work with the other members of the council to accomplish that mission.”

Under the administration of the executive branch, the Council for Interstate Adult Offender Supervision aims to guide the transfer of adult offenders between states in a manner that “promotes effective supervision strategies consistent with public safety, offender accountability, and victim’s rights”.
