Shelby Township Shooting Leads To Crash, Vehicle Fire: PD

Police said no one was injured Monday morning when a shooting led to a vehicle crashing into a tree and catching fire.

SHELBY TWP., MI — Shelby Township police said no one was injured Monday morning when a woman pulled a gun and shot at another person causing them to crash their vehicle, which then caught fire.

According to officers, Shelby Township police were dispatched to the Fox Lane Apartment complex off Auburn Road around 4:25 a.m. Monday following the report of people arguing in the street. While officers were on their way to the scene, the call was upgraded to shots fired, police said.

After two vehicles collided, police said a woman pulled a gun and shot several times at the other driver. The person being shot at drove away but lost control of their vehicle, which jumped a curb and struck a tree. Police said the vehicle then caught fire in front of the apartment building.

When officers arrived they immediately detained everyone at the scene and put out the fire, police said.

A gun was recovered from the shooter, who was then arrested, according to police. The suspect will be charged with attempted murder, felony firearm and carrying a concealed weapon, police said.
