STATE CHAMP: Utica's Nguyen Wins Tennis Crown

Davina Nguyen of won the state championship at No. 1 singles at the Division 1 tennis finals at Midland on Saturday, according to the MHSAA.

Nguyen defeated Clarkston’s Katie Brozovich 7-6, 7-5 in the final to win the state title.

Nguyen did not lose a set in winning four matches at the tournament. She defeated Mary Hanna of Saline—the top seed entering the tournament—7-5, 6-4 in the semifinals.
