Township Votes To End Pair Of Property Tax Fees
Shelby Township Board of Trustees Unanimous Vote to end Property Tax Fees

Late last month, the Shelby Township Board of Trustees waived a pair of fees for property owners. On Nov 1, in a unanimous vote, the body agreed to drop its 1 percent property tax administration fee and the 3 percent late fee.
According to Township Treasurer Michael Flynn this vote puts Shelby ahead of other area municipalities. “Some of our neighbors actually charge one or both of these fees, but here in Shelby Township — to pat ourselves on the back a little bit — because of our management, we don’t need to charge this fee,” Flynn told the Shelby-Utica News.
