Utica Senior Commits to University of Michigan Football
After initially signing on to play with Air Force, Matt Wittwer announced plans Sunday to play for the University of Michigan instead.

Matt Wittwer, who's started at quarterback for Utica Eisenhower High School for the last three years, announced Sunday that he’d signed a commitment to the University of Michigan football team. Wittwer, a 6’2, 185-lb finalist for mLive’s football player of the year in 2017, had previously committed to Air Force, but de-committed after visiting UM’s Ann Arbor campus and deciding to sign Michigan as a preferred walk-on instead.
On his personal Twitter, Wittwer wrote ”Thankful to announce that I have received an offer and am committing to the Michigan Wolverines.” The Tweet shows pictures of Wittwer, some as a toddler, wearing the maize and blue, so the announcement isn’t as much of a shock as it might seem.
Thankful to announce that I have received an offer and am committing to the Michigan Wolverines. Thank you God for giving me the opportunity to fulfill a childhood dream!! #GoBlue 〽️ (PWO) pic.twitter.com/h3vwE5lc1p
