Woman Arraigned In Shelby Township Shooting That Caused Crash
A 25-year-old woman has been charged with several felonies in connection with a shooting that led to a fiery crash Monday.
SHELBY TWP., MI — A 25-year-old woman has been charged with several felonies in connection with a shooting that led to a fiery crash Monday morning in Shelby Township, police said Tuesday.
Simone Powell was arraigned Monday afternoon on one count of assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder, receiving and concealing stolen property, felony firearm and carrying a concealed weapon, police said.
Powell's bail was set at $50,000, according to police.

According to Shelby Township police officers, police were dispatched to the Fox Lane Apartment complex off Auburn Road around 4:25 a.m. Monday following the report of people arguing in the street. While officers were on their way to the scene, the call was upgraded to shots fired, police said.

After two vehicles collided, police said a woman who was later identified as Powell pulled a gun and shot several times at the other driver. The person being shot at drove away but lost control of their vehicle, which jumped a curb and struck a tree. Police said the vehicle then caught fire in front of the apartment building.
When officers arrived they immediately detained everyone at the scene and put out the fire, police said.
A gun was recovered from Powell, police said, who was then arrested.
