Here's How MSP's I-696 Crackdown Went
Troopers busted a speeder doing 95 mph on I-696 this week. Here's a look at the tickets they gave out during Operation Eastside.
MACOMB COUNTY, MI — Michigan State Police were out enforcing speed limits and monitoring for aggressive driving along I-696 this week in a sting called Operation Eastside.
The busts took place on a single day and troopers ended up stopping 136 drivers. Here's a look at the breakdown for citations:
- 35 for speeding
- 32 for no seatbelt
- 22 for no insurance
- 3 suspended drivers
- 7 distracted drivers
State troopers gave 118 warnings during the operation. The top speeder was clocked at 95 mph, Michigan State Police said.
