A Very Busy Week for Troy Police Amid Snow Emergency
There were almost 100 accidents in five days, according to police.

Traffic accidents, including property damage and personal injury accidents, kept Troy Police busy all week following a heavy snowstorm and subsequently icy roads.
Since the snow emergency which was issued on Sunday, Troy Police responded to "2-3 times" as many accidents as normal and "3-4 times" as many calls to assist drivers stuck on the road, according to Sgt. Andy Breidenich.Â
"It definitely was a busier week due to weather," Breidenich said.
From Sunday through Friday morning, police responded to 99 accidents, mostly due to the drivers' failure to stop within a safe and sure distance, he added. Of the large number of accidents, 59 were property damage accidents and four were personal injury accidents.
Police responded to 23 calls of helping to assist drivers within the same time frame, and 30 calls of helping to assist other people.Â
