Less expensive versions, the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus, will be less than $1,000, the technology blog writes. The announcement, which will come from Apple’s new headquarters that some have said resembles a spaceship, will mark the iPhone’s 10th anniversary.
When new versions of the popular smartphone will ship is anyone’s guess. But metropolitan Detroit shoppers have a number local Apple store’s to get the new iPhone: Troy, Novi, Clinton Township and Ann Arbor. Michigan also has stores in Lansing and Grand Rapids.

Start with the operating system. The New York Times reported that the phones will run on iOS11 software.
The display will feature sharper colors and, at least on the highest end model, will get rid of the “bezel,” meaning the screen will go from one end of the device to the other without a gap, the Detroit News reported. Also expect an upgraded camera, that will feature improved “depth sensing,” TechCrunch reported.
Perhaps the coolest upgrade will be facial recognition software. Instead of using a password or finger identification, the new iPhones will know its owner by simply looking at them, the New York Times reported. It’s unclear if the older identification technologies will still be available.
