Call For Help Ends By Landing Woman In Jail

A woman told Troy Police an ex-boyfriend was following her. But officers discovered something she probably didn't want them to know.

TROY, MI — A Detroit woman calling Troy Police for help ended up being arrested on Oct. 26, according to police reports. Officers responded to the area of John R. Road and Elliot Drive at about 8:40 p.m. on a report that the woman was being followed by an ex-boyfriend.

The 21-year-old Detroit woman told police that her ex had just been released from prison and was following her in a car, but that he fled as officers arrived, reports said. Troy officers requested her driver’s license, but she said she didn’t have it and that she was from Ohio.

Reports said officers discovered the woman’s real identity a short time later. Reports said the Detroit woman had a felony warrant for her arrest for larceny in a building from Birmingham. She was then arrested and also charged with Obstruction of a Police Officer, reports said.
