Fifteen-year-old Joshua certainly enjoys doing the same things as lots of other guys his age: playing video games, listening to music, watching T.V., spending time with friends.
“I like playing the video game ‘Minecraft,’” he shares, “and Rubik’s cube, too.”
He likes jokes and funny television shows and going to the movies, and he likes to read – especially anime’ books and novels by James Patterson.
But Joshua, who is on his school’s student council, also has a serious side.
“I’d like to become a computer engineer,” he says. “Math is my favorite subject. I’m proud of being on the A/B Honor Roll every year.”
“Someday, I’d like to travel to Tokyo, the manufacturing place of Nintendo, and maybe work there, too, as a computer programmer.”
“Joshua is outgoing and motivated,” his worker says. “He’s very smart, very articulate, and he enjoys robots, computers and electrical engineering. His teachers speak very highly of him.”
“And he has a really big heart,” she says. “Even in his situation, he thinks of and tries to help those less fortunate, especially the homeless.”
“My biggest wish is for a forever family,” says Joshua. “I’d also like to win the lottery, so I can buy a computer and take my family shopping to buy them nice things.”
Joshua’s workers believe he would do best with a mom and dad who have parenting experience and who are able to provide one-on-one time and attention and maintain the services that are helping Joshua to thrive.
“I’d like a home and family, where I’m loved and cared about,” Joshua says. “I’m very caring, and I’m protective of my family.”
“We could go on trips, celebrate holidays, watch T.V. together…and we could take care of each other all the time.”
