Dequindre Road To Be Rebuilt In 2018

Troy drivers will see delays in traveling on Dequindre between Long Lake Road and Buringbush Drive .

TROY, MI — Troy residents will be seeing a lot of orange barrels on Dequindre Road next year. The project will widen and reconstruct the road from Long Lake to Buringbush Drive on the Troy/Sterling Height border at a cost $13 million. It’s the largest road project the Oakland County Road Commission will take on in 2018, according to an Oakland Press report.

“The Commission’s budget, totaling $146.9 million, is increasing $17.8 million over 2017 due to anticipated increases in state funding and federal funding. The state increase is mainly due to the increase in fuel taxes and vehicle registration fees, which took effect in January.”
“The road commission anticipates around $88 million in state road funding, compared to just over $78 million received in 2017. Federal funding is expected to total $14.7 million, which is received through the federal road improvement program.”
