Knock! Knock/Who's there?/It's Becca,Looking For a Forever Family
A Child is Waiting by Honey Murray for Digital First Media

Ten-year-old Becca, as Rebecca (mare.org #CO9233) likes to be called, will usually greet workers and visitors with her latest joke – or with her current, favorite board game in her hand.
“She likes to play the new version of ‘Life,’” her worker says. “It features careers, families with babies, real-life events, and lots of humor.”
“Rebecca loves to play and to stay active,” adds her worker. “She has lots of talents and interests! The first time she met me, she drew a picture of me.”

“I love to play games,” Becca says, “any games! And my favorite toy is any toy, actually: any toy in the world!”
Rebecca enjoys and receives help at school and would like to be a veterinarian.

“School is fun!” she exclaims. “I like math and all the subjects.”
“I like science and social studies,” Becca shares. “In science, we put vinegar and baking soda in a bottle and saw how it became bubbles!”
After school, Becca spends time outside riding bikes, playing basketball, being with friends. She enjoys playing dolls and house with her peers, watching movies, and coloring.
“Becca is a very kind and loving girl who loves to help others and who loves to be active,” her worker says. “She enjoys going on outings to places such as Pump It Up.”
“Becca will need a family that is able to provide one-on-one attention and be patient with her. They will also need to be trauma-informed. She would do best as an only or youngest child in a two-parent home. She loves animals, so a home with pets would be wonderful.”
Becca has her own ideals for a forever family of her own.
“I’d like to have siblings,” Becca says. “We’d ride bikes, go to the beach, play games, have game night. We’d go out to eat. We’d have pets: horses and dogs and cats.”
“I’m a really nice person,” Becca states. “I’d like to have a mom and a dad, siblings… To have a family means having people close to you.”
