Local Scots Donate Hundreds of Gifts to Toys for Tots
The St. Andrew's Society of Detroit is a benevolent organization that raises money for various local charities.

The following information was submitted by Bob Giles on behalf of the St. Andrew's Society of Detroit.
Monday night was a good night for the Toys for Tots program as Sgt. Rovin N. Canales and Lt. Cpl. Taylor Elkins accepted hundreds of donated toys from the St. Andrew’s Society of Detroit. The collection is an annual event for the benevolent organization, which calls the Kilgour Center (2360 Rochester Court) home.
The St. Andrew’s Society consists of individuals of Scottish descent. It was founded in 1849 and it donates tens of thousands of dollars to dozens of charities and educational organizations annually. The Society also hosts the annual Scottish Highland Games at Greenmead in Livonia the first weekend in August, as it has done for the last 163 years.
