MDOT Closing Maple Road Under I-75 For Bridge Demolition
Starting Friday morning, crews will be demolishing the southbound I-75 bridge over Maple Road.
OAKLAND COUNTY, MI — A busy stretch of Maple Road under I-75 will be shutdown this weekend as Michigan Department of Transportation crews prepare to demolish the southbound I-75 freeway bridge that travels over it.
The demolition is set to begin at about 9 a.m. Friday, and Maple Road is expected to be open to traffic again by 5 p.m. Sunday, although the right lane of westbound Maple Road will remain closed.
Both directions of I-75 currently have two lanes open with all traffic using the northbound side of the freeway, separated by a temporary concrete barrier. The configuration will allow for the southbound lanes and bridges to be reconstructed this year.
