METRO DETROIT, MI — If you live in metropolitan Detroit, chances are the claps of thunder and flashes of lightning woke you up early Friday morning. Heavy downpours of rain rolled across the area before 6 a.m.
According to the National Weather Service, the chance of rain and thunderstorms will remain all day Friday. The good news is that Saturday looks very good with the sun returning and temperatures hitting the upper 70s. Here’s a closer look at the weather forecast:
Friday Night: Scattered showers and thunderstorms before 11pm. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 62. North wind 6 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 22 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent.

Saturday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 78. North northwest wind around 9 mph. Saturday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 60. West wind 5 to 7 mph.
Sunday: A chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2pm. Mostly sunny, with a high near 81. West southwest wind 7 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent. Sunday Night: A chance of showers and thunderstorms before 8pm. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 64. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent.

Looks like rain could continue into the work week on Monday. The National Weather Service says there’s a chance of showers and thunderstorms, but calls for a partly sunny with a high near 83.
