It hasn’t been decided yet if the new car will create new jobs at the plant, which employs about 1,600 workers now. But the addition of a second shift has been suggested, the report stated. Currently, the Volt, Cadillac ELR, Opel Ampera, Chevrolet Impala and Chevrolet Malibu are built at the plant, the report added.
The Cadillac, which doesn’t have a name yet but will be larger than the XTS model, is scheduled to start production in the fourth quarter of 2015, the report added.
