Plans For Troy IHOP Move Forward
The proposed breakfast restaurant would be located on Rochester Road at Urbancrest Drive.

TROY, MI — The city’s ever growing dining options could expand again in 2018. Breakfast favorite IHOP recently received a positive recommendation on its plans for a restaurant on Rochester Road at Urbancrest Drive from the city’s planning commission, according to a C & G Newspapers report.
Concerns over adequate parking held up that approval in October, but revised plans received a nod of approval from city officials and the planning commission. Construction on the restaurant will begin next spring if Troy City Council approves final site plans, the newspaper reported.
The International House of Pancakes currently has 23 restaurants in Michigan, including three in Oakland County. Several nearby IHOPs rate three stars out of five, according to patrons leaving reviews on Yelp.

“IHOP has lots of options for both breakfast/lunch/dinner. My friend made her own breakfast,” wrote Victoria M of Rochester in a Dec. 6 review of the Bloomfield Hills location. She gave the restaurant four stars. “She wanted crepes but did not want the cream filling inside and there were no issues with customizing her order. I stuck with a good ol' Belgium waffle and it was fluffy. Maybe not the best ever Belgium waffle I have had but it hit the spot.”
A review of the Royal Oak location wasn’t as kind. Lindsey P. of Rochester Hills gave it just two stars in a May 4 review.

“The food was, well it's IHOP,” she wrote. “My boyfriend never got a refill on his water and we sat waiting for our check for nearly 15 minutes, dishes piled high, by our server was too busy texting to notice that she didn't pre bus or fill our water.”
