Teen 'Moons' Woman Through Window; Dogs Attack Chihuahua, Bite Woman

The following is a recap of recent news from the Troy Police Department.

Dogs attack woman and her chihuahua

An officer responded to the 3000 block of Forge Sunday afternoon, where a woman reported she and her pet chihuahua had been attacked by two of her neighbor's dogs.

According to a media release from the Troy Police Department, the two dogs escaped when their garage door was opened, attacking the chihuahua. The woman was also bitten on the hand when she rescued her chihuahua, sustaining a minor injury.

The chihuahua was taken to a veterinarian to be checked for injuries; Oakland County Animal Control will conduct a follow-up investigation.

Family discovers door of home kicked in

Troy officers responded to the 2000 block of Saratoga the evening of Sept. 28 after receiving a report of a home invasion that was just discovered.

According to a police report, the woman had left her home at 8:40 p.m. At 10 p.m., a family member called her to tell her they had just found the front door of the home kicked in.

A set of car keys were found thrown on the floor near the front door, though it appears no items were taken from the home, according to the report. Police suspect the culprit was looking for the keys to the family's vehicle, which was parked in the driveway at the time of the incident.

Man steals $465 Louis Vuitton belt

Troy officers responded to Louis Vuitton at The Somerset Collection after receiving a report that a retail fraud that had just occurred.

The store manager told police a couple had come into the store, and the man had concealed a $465 belt in his pants pocket before exiting the store without paying.

Troy officers, using the description the store manager had given, located the couple in the mall. The woman was wearing the stolen belt when they were stopped by officers. The male, a 22-year-old Detroit resident, was arrested for retail fraud in the first degree. The woman, also a 22-year-old Detroit resident, was arrested for possession of stolen property.

Barefooted woman steals boots from Kohl's

A 49-year-old St. Clair Shores woman was arrested for retail fraud in the second degree after entering Kohl's without shoes on her feet, then leaving wearing a stolen pair of boots.

According to a media release from Troy police, the woman was also charged with possession of marijuana after police found the drug in her purse. The woman also has two outstanding warrants for her arrest out of other Michigan jurisdictions.

Man brandishes knife in road rage incident

Troy officers responded to the area of Rochester and Long Lake the afternoon of Sept. 28 after receiving reports of a traffic altercation in which one of the drivers produced and brandished a knife, telling the other driver he was going to "kill him," according to a media release from Troy police.

The suspect fled the scene when the other man said he was going to call police. The incident is still under investigation.

Teen 'moons' woman in her home

A woman on the 1000 block of Cranbrook reported hearing repeated tapping on her window around 10 p.m. on Sept. 27.

When the woman looked outside, she saw a young man, approximately 17 years old, exposing his buttocks. The teen then ran off.
