Police: Lapeer Couple Had Toddler Son, Heroin, Syringes in Car

Troy Police also found stolen property in the Lapeer couple's vehicle.

Troy Police responded to the area of Long Lake Road and Livernois Road just before 6 p.m. Sunday while assisting a neighboring police department by stopping a vehicle wanted in connection with a larceny that had occurred in that city.

According to a media release from the Troy Police Department, Troy officers searched the vehicle and found heroin, syringes and stolen property in the vehicle. Officers then arrested the 21-year-old Lapeer woman and 22-year-old Lapeer man for receiving stolen property, possession of heroin and possession of narcotic paraphernalia.

Both suspects have outstanding misdemeanor warrants for their arrest and are also being investigated in connection with a home invasion in Troy this past summer, according to the media release.

The couple had their 2-year-old son in the vehicle with them when they were stopped and arrested.
