Police: Man Assaulted After Insulting Teen's Mother

Troy Police officers responded to the 2000 block of East Big Beaver Road at 9:20 p.m. Wednesday for a report of an assault and battery in progress.

Police interviewed both men involved as well as a witness before issuing the 18-year-old Sterling Heights man a citation for assault and battery.

According to a media release from the Troy Police Department, the incident occurred when the two men were in a car together and the 18-year-old "took exception to something said about his mother and assaulted another occupant of the vehicle."

The victim suffered minor injuries in the incident.
