Pontiac Community Foundation announces two new members to board
Foundation adds two new members, local leaders to its Board of Directors
(June 1, 2021- Pontiac, MI-) Pontiac Community Foundation is proud to announce two new members to its Board of Directors: Cheryl Boodram and Andre Lamar Poplar.
Boodram and Poplar joined the board of PCF earlier this month, joining current members:

“We couldn’t be prouder to welcome Cheryl and Andre to our Board of Directors, said Pontiac Community Foundation CEO Dustin McClellan. “Both have the skills, drive and love for the City of Pontiac that will help us continue to make this community a great place to live and work.”
Boodram and Poplar exemplify the characteristics of the Board of Directors and will work to champion the mission and strategic direction of the organization. They will also provide fiscal oversight and counsel to the organization and its key stakeholders, help in securing important resources, and provide relevant expertise to ensure board wellness and the regular review board policies and bylaws.
Boodram is the EVP of Sales and CMO for Chief Financial Credit Union and is a former resident of the city.
“I am passionate about Pontiac; living in the City helped mold me into who I am,” said Boodram. “The Pontiac Community Foundation is doing vital work to ensure that youth, families and businesses in the City have the opportunities to grow and thrive. It is an absolute honor to be able to serve on the board of directors.”
Poplar is the Vice Chancellor of HR and DEI at Oakland Community College. He lives in Pontiac and as an attorney with a history of leadership roles in the city, he cares deeply about helping his fellow residents.
I am truly honored to be selected to serve on Pontiac Community Foundation’s Board of Directors,” Poplar said. “I am committed to working to help PCF achieve its mission and reach its strategic goals. I believe Pontiac residents deserve beautiful city parks, family-friendly community-based events, and a world class school system. I will work tirelessly to assist PCF with its continued efforts to increase business development and improve the overall the infrastructure in the City of Pontiac.”
