Michael S. King is an Associate at Secrest Wardle’s Grand Rapids location. Mr. King is a member of the Firm’s Motor Vehicle Litigation, Real Estate, and Property, Fire and Casualty Practice Groups. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Michigan in Organizational Studies and graduated from the selective program with high distinction. During his time at the University of Michigan, he served on the board of Kappa Omega Alpha, a pre-law professional fraternity. Mr. King earned his Juris Doctor from Michigan State University College of Law (magna cum laude). While in law school, he competed on the appellate moot court team and was a teacher’s assistant for first year writing and advocacy classes. He also received juris prudence awards in Criminal Procedure: Adjudication, Legal Research, Writing and Analysis, and Michigan Civil Procedure. Michael King is licensed to practice law in the State of Michigan and in the United States District Court for the Western District of Michigan. He is an active member of the State Bar of Michigan's Negligence Law, Real Property Law, Insurance and Indemnity Law, and Young Lawyers Sections. Mr. King is also a member of the State Bar of Michigan’s Real Property Law Section’s Legislative Committee. In this role, he acts part of a team of attorneys who monitor state bills introduced to determine their impact on real estate matters in Michigan.
