METRO DETROIT, MI — Are you looking for something to do this Christmas in the Metro Detroit area? Below are a few ideas to ring in the festivities whether you're celebrating alone or with a full house of relatives.

1. Want to skate off your Christmas second helpings? Head to the ice skating rink at Campus Martius. It's $8 for adults to skate, $7 for kids 12 and under and seniors. Skate rental: $3. Christmas schedule: Noon - 8 p.m.

2. Catch a stupefying performance of Cirque du Soleil's OVO at 3:00 p.m. at the Joe Louis Arena in Detroit. Click here for tickets.

3. See you on the slopes! Alpine Valley will be open 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. so you can ski and snowboard your heart away.

4. Come nighttime, hit the wildly festive Big, Bright Light Show in downtown Rochester. Store fronts are lit up in a merry cascade of colors from 5 p.m. to midnight nightly.

5. Volunteer with Meals On Wheels and bring a hot meal on Christmas to someone that would greatly appreciate it.
