Troy Athens Bands Host Winter Guard International Percussion Show
Twenty indoor percussion ensembles from Michigan and Ohio will perform at the 11th annual Winter Guard International Regional at Troy.
Come and experience the excitement of an indoor percussion show on February 6, 2016 when the Troy Athens Bands host the 11th annual Winter Guard International (WGI) show at Troy Athens High School.
Doors open at 9 a.m. with preliminary performances starting at 10 a.m. Finals begin at 5:30 p.m. Tickets are $13 for prelims, and $17 for finals. A $23 combo prelims/finals ticket is also available at the box office on the day of the event. Proceeds will benefit Troy Athens High School band programs.
Local units competing include world class group Walled Lake Central High School and high school units from Farmington Hills, Ferndale, Grand Blanc, Huron Valley, Lake Orion, Novi, and Southgate Anderson. World class groups Redline and NorthCoast Academy will also compete.

Indoor percussion ensemble competitions involve an array of equipment, movement, and skill. A variety of percussive instruments and other props are utilized to bring music and themes to life while displaying technique, creativity, and expression.
