Troy Fire Department Battles Industrial Building Blaze

The origin and cause of the fire remain under investigation.

TROY, MI — A fire broke out at an industrial building at 2401 Elliott Dr., according to a press release.

The Troy Fire Department was dispatched to the one and a half story, occupied industrial building on Dec. 13 at 8:50 a.m. Arriving units reported the fire was in an industrial filter unit attached to the building.

Firefighers initiated fire control tactics and contained the blaze to the industrial filter unit. The Troy Fire Department reports that a required smoke/fire damper actuated and helped contain the fire to the filter unit.

The occupants returned to work and there was no business interruption. No injuries or fatalities were reported.

What sparked the fire remains unknown. Both the origin and cause of the fire are under investigation.
